Child safety standards

Idavoll is for adults. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, and how to reach us about them.

Adults only

You must be 18 or over to use Idavoll, and you confirm it when you sign up. The app is rated for adults on the stores, and we ask the stores to keep it from accounts known to belong to minors. An account we find to belong to someone under 18 is removed.

What is never allowed

Any content that sexualises a minor, any attempt to contact or groom a minor, and any sharing of child sexual abuse material. This applies everywhere on Idavoll, including private chats. There are no exceptions and no warnings.

How to report

1. Open the person's profile, or the chat, and choose Report.
2. Choose "Under 18" if the concern is someone's age, otherwise the reason that fits, and say what happened.
3. The report goes to Idavoll staff at once. Reporting is private; the person reported is not told.

You can also write to safety@idavoll.app, including from outside the app or without an account.

What we do

• Reports of this kind are reviewed first, by a person.
• The account is suspended while we look, and removed when the report holds.
• Confirmed child sexual abuse material is reported to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and we preserve what the law requires us to.
• We cooperate with law enforcement requests that follow the law.

How Idavoll is built

Everything written for others to find is checked once by an automated system before long, and held for a person when it is unsure. Photos are checked before anyone but their owner sees them. Chats are private and are not read, so a report is the way a chat reaches staff; every chat and every profile has a Report option.
