Deleting your account is permanent. Your profile, photos, posts, answers, events you added, messages and account history will be removed. Answers under your questions are removed too.

Other people's messages stay in their chats. Your direct chats and the chats for Hangouts you host become read-only, with your name and messages removed. Hangouts you joined continue without you.

Your account disappears immediately. Uploaded files may take a little longer to be erased.

Sign in to the account you want to delete, then open Settings → Delete account. You can also return to this page after signing in.
